Staff and customers at Beacon Bingo Loughborough are celebrating after raising an amazing £2,500 for CHIPS, a charity set up on behalf of the casino and gaming industry, which aims to provide specialised wheelchairs for children with severe mobility problems.
Between the 7th and 27th May, the team at Beacon Bingo took part in a variety of fundraising activities to raise money for the worthy cause – including a bake sale and a sponsored walk. In addition, every bingo session played over the three weeks included a ‘CHIPS flyer’, with all proceeds from ticket sales of the flyer going to the charity.
The largest fundraising event was the sponsored walk, which set off from Clock Tower in Leicester at 12pm on the 24th May and arrived at Beacon Bingo Loughborough at 5pm. Five members of staff; Natasha, Antonia, Jackie, Lynda and Katie; took part in the 11.5 mile walk.
If that wasn’t enough there was also baby photo competition and ‘bric-a-brac’ sale at the venue.
Venue manager, Andrew Collier, said: “CHIPS is an incredibly amazing charity and we are proud to support them. To have been able to raise so much in just a month is a testament to the work and generosity of the staff and customers here at Beacon Bingo Loughborough.”
