Beacon Bingo’s longest serving employee retires

Following an incredibly long career, Beacon Bingo’s longest serving employee is retiring. Brenda Ancliff has worked at Beacon Bingo Ilkeston for almost 30 years, having joined on the 31st August 1988. The Ilkeston team arranged for a presentation to be held on Friday 14th July to celebrate the time Brenda had spent at the club and also to give a great send off to a well-loved colleague.

Commenting on her time at the club, Brenda said: “I have had such an amazing experience with Beacon Bingo here in Ilkeston. It really has become like a second home to me, and all the other employees are like family. It is sad to be leaving, but after 29 years it is time for me to retire.

“That said, I’ll definitely be popping in every now and again to play a game of bingo; it will be nice to be on the other side of the game for once!”

Dave Vernon, Ilkeston Beacon Bingo’s duty manager, said: “Brenda has been at the club since 1988, and it will be incredibly strange coming into work and for her not to be here.”

“The staff and customers alike all love her and will miss her greatly, and everyone who meets her only ever has positive things to say and hopefully she’ll only have good things to say about the send-off we have her!”
