A self-employed builder, who only started playing Bingo for the first time this year, has scooped a world record equalling £100,000 jackpot at Beacon Bingo on Cricklewood, Broadway – Europe’s biggest bingo club with a capacity of 2,500.
Fidan Parllaku (31) from Luton, won the jackpot prize at Cricklewood Beacon Bingo’s annual Colossus event which took place recently [Sunday 29 November], on an evening that saw over £175,000 given away to customers by the club.
Fidan told of his shock at winning the life-changing sum of money, and said he has only started playing Bingo at Cricklewood recently to enjoy a night out with friends who he was with when he won the money.
He said: “I just cannot believe that I have won it, I still feel like I am dreaming. This money will change my life completely, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
“I will be able to use the money for a deposit on a house and I may invest some in my business.”
£100,000 is the biggest prize in the world for a single game of bingo played in one bingo club. Beacon Bingo Cricklewood established the Guinness world record at its Colossus event last year.
Steve Lightfoot, general manager of the Cricklewood club added: “We’re absolutely delighted for Fidan, and with Christmas just around the corner it is a nice time of the year to win such a huge amount of money.”
“The Colossus event really is turning into a stand out event in people’s calendars. We had such an amazing night, and the bingo hall was packed full of people of all ages who helped us celebrate the night. Bingo plays such an important and positive role in bringing local communities together, and this event has really showcased that.”
