Cashino area manager steps up to the plate

Julie Summers, Cashino Ipswich’s area manager, has been named Praesepe’s “Employee of the Month – August 2017” after she went above and beyond her duties to become a shoulder to lean on for one of her local managers who discovered she was suffering from serious health issues.

Praesepe, a national leisure services group that employs over 1,900 people throughout the UK, operates Beacon Bingo, Cashino, Crystal Casino, Funshine, Jackpot FM and Tan Express. Its Cashino venue in Ipswich is located on Carr Street.

Julie has worked for Cashino for nearly 4 years and manages a total of 14 venues around the area, was nominated for the award due to all the care and compassion she has shown to a manager within her area.

“I’m so shocked to have won this award, as I only did what any friend and colleague would do in a time of need,” Julie said. “Having recently taking some extra training and also partaking in coaching sessions, I’m more ready than ever to be there for any and all employees who need me in the future!”

Julie was joined by colleagues in a surprise ceremony on Tuesday 26th September and Praesepe’s CEO, Nick Harding presented a certificate to mark her hard work and dedication; a special Employee of the Month award; and £250 of high street vouchers.

Vicky Grier, Head of Human Resources, said: “The level of care and compassion Julie has shown to one of her managers after they discovered they were suffering from serious health issues is truly admirable. She has supported her in the background and given up her personal time when needed. She is a testament to Cashino.”
