Milton Keynes-based Praesepe Group has honoured Beacon Bingo Cricklewood, the largest bingo club in Europe, after it raised an astonishing £22,279 in just one year for gaming industry charity, CHIPS.
Praesepe Group is one of Europe’s largest and most experienced gaming organisations, operating seven Beacon Bingo clubs, 171 Cashino adult gaming centres, eight seaside entertainment centres and 38 tanning salons across the country. It is one of the main fundraisers for CHIPS – a charity, founded by the UK gaming industry, that aims to provide specialised powered wheelchairs for children with severe mobility problems.
Steve Lightfoot, manager at Beacon Bingo Cricklewood, was very moved with the recognition and said: “It’s a great privilege to be the CHIPS Top Fundraisers for the company. We couldn’t have raised such a large amount of money without the support of the team and the customers, who were very generous with their donations.”
Nick Harding, Praesepe’s CEO joined the award ceremony, which took place at Beacon Bingo Cricklewood on the 20th December 2017, and presented a Gold Achievement record to the venue. He said: “Cricklewood has been fantastic at raising funds for CHIPS and really motivated customers and staff to donate – they hosted a variety of fundraising events and opportunities. The whole staff was fully behind the charity – it was definitely a year-long round the clock effort!”
Nick continued: “There was always some sort of activity taking place at the venue, and what made it even more successful was that the customers and staff were really happy to be involved, as they felt it is such a deserving charity.”
Over the years, Praesepe has donated a massive £820,000 allowing CHIPS to provide more than 150 powered wheelchairs across the country.
In total, CHIPS has raised over £2million and presented over 500 wheelchairs to children throughout the UK.
