Redcar’s premier bingo club, Beacon Bingo held ‘an evening with Ray Lewis’, last Thursday night (December 7th).
The event, which had over 350 attendees, saw the former lead singer of “The Drifters” perform for one hour before meeting and greeting customers.
Ray joined “The Drifters” in 1978, and was lead singer for 11 years, and his set in Redcar included many of their biggest hits, including; ‘Under the boardwalk’, ‘Save the last dance for me’, and ‘Saturday night at the movies’.
Commenting on the visit, Ray Lewis said: “Thursday night’s atmosphere was great and I loved meeting the Beacon Bingo customers who were in high spirits!”
Rocky Richmond, Beacon Bingo Redcar’s general manager, commented: “An opportunity like this was too good to miss! It was fantastic to have Ray perform in our bingo hall. Everyone was incredibly excited about meeting such a legend!”
