Martin Higgs, a local Beacon Bingo handyman, has been named Praesepe’s “Employee of the Month – June 2017” after he switched his usual day shifts to nights in order to complete vital interior work at the company’s Cricklewood venue.
Praesepe, a national leisure services group that employs over 1,900 people throughout the UK, operates Beacon Bingo, Cashino, Crystal Casino, Funshine, Jackpot FM and Tan Express.
Martin, 49, who has worked for Beacon Bingo for nearly 10 years, was nominated for the award by Steve Lightfoot, general manager for Beacon Bingo Cricklewood.
“I was very surprised to receive the award!” he said. “Being flexible is all part of the job and I am incredibly happy do to what I can, when I can, for the company. It is lovely to be recognised for the work, however.”
Martin was joined by colleagues in a surprise ceremony on Tuesday, 25th July and Praesepe’s CEO Nick Harding presented a certificate to mark his hard work and dedication, a special Employee of the Month award, and £250 of high street vouchers.
Steve Lightfoot, Beacon Bingo Cricklewood General Manager, said: “Martin is an amazing employee. He often comes in on his days off for emergency work as well as being incredibly flexible on his shifts depending on the problem that he’s helping us with. His knowledge of the business and relationships with management and suppliers is first class.”
