Kid Jensen hits the festive airwaves at Jackpot FM

British broadcasting legend David ‘Kid’ Jensen gave Jackpot FM listeners a real festive treat today (December 22nd, 2016) when he popped into the Milton Keynes-based radio station and spent an hour on air with regular Afternoon presenter, Lia Christodoulou.

For Jensen, who shot to fame with Radio Luxembourg in the 1960s before going on to cement his place as one of the nation’s favourite radio stars with BBC Radio 1, Capital Radio and Heart 106.2, this was his third visit to the Jackpot FM studios in 2016.

“Despite so many predicting its demise for so many years, radio is still the greatest broadcasting medium of all and seeing it being done so well, in what essentially is a small in-house station, is truly heart-warming,” he said.

“As always, I’ve had a great time and it’s been lovely getting to spread some Christmas cheer to Jackpot FM’s listeners as well as the staff and DJs here in Milton Keynes.”

Jackpot FM is an online radio station that broPRESS Jackpot FM Kid Jenson at Christmas -16adcasts to 145 Cashino adult gaming centres and eight Beacon Bingo clubs across the UK. It is owned and operated by parent company, Praesepe Group and has been on air since 2012.

Jackpot FM DJ, Lia Christodoulou said: “Having David pay a visit was a huge treat for me, let alone the listeners. He’s a true great of British broadcasting and so working, however briefly, with him was fantastic.”

Lia continued: “Hopefully, we’ll be able to get him back a few more times in 2017 to spread some more of his radio magic on Jackpot FM.”

 The Praesepe Group of companies is one of Europe’s largest and most experienced gaming organisations. As well as Beacon Bingo and Cashino adult, it also operates a number of seaside family entertainment centres. The Group is based in Milton Keynes and employs over 1,600 people. It is renowned for raising money for CHIPS – a charity founded by the UK gaming industry that provides specialised powered wheelchairs for young people with severe mobility problems.
