A local Cashino employee who saved a customer’s life has been awarded for his bravery by his employer Praesepe, a national leisure services group that employs 1600 people throughout the UK.
Joshua Senouillet, a keyholder for Cashino Derby on 35 Cornmarket, has worked for the company for nearly four years and it was thanks to his quick reaction during a night shift that he saved a regular customer from choking on some food.
An ambulance was called to the venue and the customer made a full recovery and even returned a few hours later to thank Joshua personally.
Joshua was joined by colleagues and customers in a surprise ceremony yesterday, where Praesepe’s CEO Nick Harding and Head of HR Jeni McLaren presented him with £250 of high street vouchers, a special Employee of the Month badge and certificate to mark his award.
Venue Manager of the club said: “Joshua is a great member of staff and often goes above and beyond the call of duty to help customers, but this is on another level and he thoroughly deserves this award as acknowledgment of his act of heroism.”
Nick Harding commented: “Joshua’s quick thinking led to the life of a customer being saved. He is a fine example to others of how to remain calm and collective under pressure. ”
