Local Streatham man Mark Alford’s dedication to and passion for his work and customers have earned him the title ‘Employee of the Month – June 2016’ at Praesepe Group, a national leisure services group that employs 1,600 people throughout the UK.
Beacon Bingo’s Assistant Manager Craig White, who nominated Mark, said: “Mark deserves to be acknowledged for everything he’s done for Beacon Bingo over the last 16 years. He’s a remarkable employee who goes above and beyond to make each day successful. Mark is always the first to arrive at work and often the last to leave. His interaction with our customers is undoubtedly his greatest strength, treating every single one with respect and genuine affection. He even helps the older customers book taxis home!”
“In just the past three years, he has raised over £6,000 for CHIPS – a charity that provides specialised wheelchairs for children and young people – through a host of fundraising events including coach trips, hot dog eating contests and bric-a-brac sales,” Craig added.
Mark was joined by colleagues in a surprise ceremony, last Thursday, where Praesepe Group’s CEO, Nick Harding, presented him with £250 of high street vouchers, a special Employee of the Month badge and a certificate to mark his award.
Nick Harding commented: “Mark really goes above and beyond, always guaranteeing the work he does is perfect. He is a credit to the organisation and all his co-workers enjoy having him in the team.”
