Princess and pirate weekend success with The Fabulous Showboat

Following a £160,000 refurbishment, Margate’s family entertainment centre, The Fabulous Showboat re-opened with a real bang this weekend – with its doors being flung open for 48-hours of fun, entertainment and a pirate and princess themed fancy dress competition!

The venue, part of gaming company Praesepe, has enjoyed significant success in Margate since it opened 6 years ago, and the refurbishment, which took 5 months, means the centre can now offer its customers state of the art bowling lanes, the latest pusher and racing games, and much, much more.

The Fabulous Showboat venue manager Debbie May, said: “This was a great way to re-open, and even better that it came just in time for the Easter holidays as we know just how difficult it can be to keep the kids amused.”

“It really was a fabulous, fun packed weekend, with plenty of activities where customers and visitors could participate in a best dressed princess and pirate competition judged by “Jack Sparrow” and princess “Rapunzel”!

As well as the fancy dress competition, the opening weekend also included free food, special discounts, face painting and live entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday – including performances from the ‘Top Bananas’ stilt band.

“The relaunch was terrific,” continued Debbie. “The atmosphere was great, with endless entertainment and fun, and importantly it meant we could give something back to our customers, while hopefully attracting new ones.”

“We value our customers and always strive to provide a great customer experience, so I’m delighted we can now provide them with a better venue, which will surely deliver more fun than ever before!”
